Location

Follow the twisting country lanes to where the Towy is crossed and then on the famous and dramatic Welsh Drover routes until you reach Llandovery, a place which that well known travel writer George Borrow described as: ‘the pleasantest little town in which I have halted in the course of my wanderings'.

Llandovery meaning ‘a church amongst waters’ is perfect for exploring the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountain and the Cambrian Wilderness where the Red Kite soars.

The Towy famous for fishing is studded with ancient castles ruins all the way to Carmarthen and the coast, where for centuries the English battled with the Welsh. Llandovery castle is only yards away from the hotel and the market towns of Llandeilo, Brecon and Showground at Builth Wells are a short drive away.

The famous village of Mydffai where Prince Charles and Camilla have recently purchased their first Welsh home is three miles away and can be found on a footpath from the Hotel.
